Education

Why is education important to anyone , any gender?

In the olden years in  our great parents time or grandparents time, they never believed  in educating the women. There were a large  family in most of the houses. The girls were  married at the age of 10 to 12. After they attained  puberty, the Bidai takes place. By the age of 20, many girls become the mother of four children.  At the age to study and enjoy the childhood, they took the responsibility  of looking after a family.

Don’t  you think those girls too would have loved to go to school and get educated?

Many girls were lucky to have studied till the 5th Std. My mother in- law was lucky to be one of them.

She too was married at 14 years .

I was surprised  to see the amount of knowledge  she had gathered over the years. The best part  was she could, in a second with her calculation, could tell the date and day of anyone’s  birthdays.

It  looked  like magical to me. Her younger sister was lucky to be educated and she was a Primary Teacher and was a kind and loving teacher  who was my inspiration.

Maybe I got a chance to do my B Ed, after 15 years of marriage  with two children. One of my best period of my life.

When people started moving to various states and countries, to be educated in different fields like Doctors, Engineers, Teachers and Scientists. Many joined the three Services to serve our Nation.

At times, I wonder how the earlier  children without any help from their parents or taking tuitions, have become in life to be famous Doctors or anyone in their lives.

Nowadays, many parents are highly educated and can help their children in their studies. They are busy working and send the children to tuitions. Still many children do not come up to their parents expectations?

Why is the ‘ beti padavo, beti bacchavo’ slogan is needed if each parent feel their children a boy or a girl is to be educated?

Our household helpers, the ladies are not educated and are not able to stand against their husband’s  tortures daily, thinking if their children’s  fate if she  leaves the  house.

They say they could not get educated when they were children and feel sad for that and they try their best to  educate their children, specially their girls.

Educating people, boosts their self- confidence and they could stand and fight for their rights atleast. Try to become someone who could take  care of themselves and their family.

Spreading the importance  of education  is the responsibility of each one of us.

I tried to teach my maid to write the letters in English and at least write  her name, so that she could read and teach her girls  and in need of the hour,  she could  read and sign any papers.

This is just a simple gesture being a teacher. I am happy that she has become a confident girl now.

Education is important to each person.

To operate a Bank Account

To use any App rightly

To sign any important papers after reading

To attend any meeting in your child’s school

To attend any conference in your office

You increase self confidence

To face the world boldly

Education is an assert and not comes in handy  at anytime of your life.

Let us try to educate people to be kind and helpful ,and teach them to be self- sufficient.
