Burn out in the pious fire

All your jealousies

And your enmities

This is a day

When you can help weeping eyes smile

Aching hearts soothe and lonely lives feel wanted 

This is the day

To celebrate victory

To celebrate success

And to rejoice

The power of love and benevolence

Put in all your heartaches and sadness

As oblations

When you circumambulate around the Holika

And return back, clean

Pious, warm-hearted and devoted

Towards humanity

Merge in the chants of

Om Namah Sivaay and Radhe Krishna

And meet everyone who you encounter

With the same feelings

While painting his life with colors

Red, pink, blue, green or purple hues

But please remember

Not to paint anyone’s life

In shades of gray

Do not spoil the fervor of this festival

By forcefully going against other peoples wishes 

And do not let anyone else also

To ruin the zeal of this festival

Stay safe yourself

And let others feel safe too
