Kites

Kites
Kites

Whenever I see the children play

Flying their kites in the sky

It takes me back in time

Where I began dreaming of soaring high.

That kite in the sky is my dream

While in my hand is a thread, my will.

It is Me, my will and my dream

It is all up to me.

Shall I keep on holding on to this thread

Or let go of it instead?

As it dances in the sky

The wind is testing how far it can fly.

Is my thread strong enough

To hold my dreams up above?

If not, how shall I protect my dream

From flying away from me?

As the children plays

I see their smiling faces.

If a child can hold those threads firmly in their hands,

What more can I do?

It is something so simple and trivial

But it made me see all the possibilities

Of holding on to our dreams firmly as we make it.
