How I Began Teaching…….

Teaching

Teaching. being a passionate profession. not only enhances the overall development of a human being. but also helps in sharing knowledge and building the confidence of the young ones to pursue new heights in their education and career path! Well, my teaching story began after I completed my post-graduation…

I took to doing Eligibility test for lecturer, since that too involves teaching. So instead of waiting for results, I took up a Class Teacher’s iob for Class 3. I thought it would give me a good exposure and a fine exposure towards teaching, as a profession. The first day of my interaction with children was great! It started out with their innocence and pranks…on the lighter side. of course. They started out with questions like “Does a helicopter have wheels?” Well, the students were full of life, trying to fool me! While teaching the map, they said. that the Bay of Bengal was in the west… hehehe.

After breaking the ice with them, they seemed to like me and my explanation! It took me a while to get well-versed with the whole class…some were naughty. some quiet. some became my favourites. On the whole. it was a very lovable experience that I gathered with my students. As time went by, the children enjoyed their participation in the Children’s Day dance show. They were also very surprised seeing their class teacher participate, wearing their uniform as a student, in a play! They were all praises the next day for their class teacher.

At the end of the year, the children enjoyed their picnic to the zoo! On the whole, a teacher is like a mother to the children….sometimes scolding, sometimes punishing, and guiding them towards the right path. The students also keep on inspiring their teacher now and then by their aspirations, youthfulness & willingness to learn! So, teachers and students go a long way in the life path of each other with respect and a guiding attitude towards each other!

Teaching is the most respected and recognised profession. It establishes a kind and understanding rapport with children and their parents. Teachers guide students from school to college days. They are always close to the children’s heart. A teacher is always remembered for his or her explanation, joyfulness, kindness throughout the child’s life However, some teachers are strict and use a ruler to make the children straight. A child should not be beaten as a punishment. He should be given a proper explanation to clear his doubts. If you be very strict with the child, he too shall become stubborn and not listen to you. He will also complain about you to his or her parents. Your job will also be at risk, if you are too strict.

You should always be kind and generous to your approach in teaching, giving students attention and explaining the lessons in detail. You should be close to their heart and mind to get their brain working. You should give them the freedom to perform well with their own set of skills and always encourage them in their favourite subjects.

You should encourage hobby ideas, give them company in their play time and also give them sweets if they perform well or finish their work soon . This idea of giving sweets will encourage them to perform better and finish their classwork soon.

Teaching is the most noble profession and it must be given a thought by everyone who want to take it up as an profession. A teacher should always be passionate about reading, writing and explanation for the entire life. A teacher should always have love for his or her profession and make the class interesting to the best of his abilities. So, if anyone is interested in teaching, go ahead and start it as your profession! Good Luck to all the Teachers and Happy Teaching!
