A Memorable Trip in 2024.

Yes, after many years we could plan a trip to Mumbai and Pune. My son was in Bangalore but last year he was transferred to Mumbai. Maybe this is the Lord’s wish as we wanted to visit our relatives and friends for a long time. I am from Bandra, Bombay 70 years ago, and have been excited to visit since our last visit in 2012.

Thank the Lord that He could fix this February for us to be with our son and family. We are happy it coincided with his half-century, 50th birthday at the end of February. Being with our loved ones on their special day to bless them is a joy.

But as our grandson’s 9th Std exams started on the same day, we did not have a party.

Two of his friends, with their wives, landed up at 10 in the night. They got the cake and enjoyed it. We pardoned ourselves and slept.

We talked about our golden years spent in Ganga Apartments, Patna. She was walking with a walker.

The next day, we took an Ola and rushed to Pune to meet our relatives after seven years. As they were all Senior Citizens with some old age trouble, we stayed with one of our close family friend’s daughter’s house from Patna. We all lived together like a big family long years ago in 1983. When we were in Pune for ten years, she got married in 1999 and it was like our daughter’s house. We lived happily there. Her mother also was there by chance with plates on her thigh after her fall last year.

One of the ‘Bucket Lists’ to be with any elderly person and cheer them up was fulfilled this March 2024. We both tried to cheer her depressed mood due to her inability to do anything on her own. We cheered her by talking about those days when her late husband was around 26 years ago. She was very happy and cheerful and told us not to go. But meeting and departing happens and are part of life. We went for a walk in the evening.

Had some and got some Karela chips  Which she loves. I had the smallest samosa at Rs 22 each, omg. In Jamshedpur, a bigger one is for Rs 10 now.

The daughter even though busy with her work at Symbiosis College, makes good food .

The cook also makes food. She makes me prepare “Ven Pongal”. She and her husband are a good host. Loving and making you feel homely. When. We were in Pune for ten years, we used to enjoy Holi in their house. Malpua, Dahi Vadas. Reminded us of Patna’s days.

My uncle and aunt,.now no more were in Delhi. They were happy to have our company ??

From their house, we used to visit our relatives and friends’ houses and gather good memories to go back to Jamshedpur and talk about.

Mumbai chi famous Bhel puris, Vada Pavs, and dabelis are mouth-watering. I make everything at home. Puneri Misal Pav I make it and Pav Bhaji.

Each State has its delicacies and when you watch the crowd around these stalls, you do not feel anyone is poor.

Now I am waiting for a grand meeting with my cousins whom I have not met since long after our marriage.

Lastly, I am waiting to meet my smart blogger girls who fondly call me,’ Amma’, and ‘Didi’.

One of my school friend’s husbands passed away and I am planning to meet her in April.

Thank you for all .?????
