We have been claiming this notion of “Opposite attracts” for ages now. But, I wonder do we have a clear idea of what the word opposite means in a relationship? Seems like Ilamaran is clueless until Vasanth happens to be in his life. 

Ilamaran & Meera have been together for a couple of years now. But their relationship is not going anywhere but full of arguments. When one wants to go out for a drive another wants to spend time in confined spaces. Just like that whatever one chooses to do, the other will oppose it. Their differences always lead to unwanted arguments and disagreements. In the initial stage of their relationship, they both tried to adjust to each other but as time went by both of them may started to feel low and reluctant because constantly giving up on what they wanted to do for the other made them feel inferior. that led to small bickering, and eventually, it ended up in big arguments now.

Both just graduated and started working in renowned concerns respectively. That’s where Ilamaran met Vasanth his new friend. Somehow they both clicked immediately. That day Ilamaran and Meera’s argument were a bit more vicious than previous arguments. so, Meera asked for a break up Ilamaran was so disheartened with the situation, that he opted to drink away his misery. He asked Vasanth to accompany him. After he got drunk enough he vented everything out. Vasanth just listened didn’t say anything brought him back home and nursed him and put him to sleep.

The very next day Ilamaran felt so embarrassed about his drunken antics decided to ask Vasanth for an apology. So, when they met he expressed how much sorry he was about yesterday. Then Vasanth had a talk with him about his past experience to make Ilamaran understand were they go wrong. He listened with so much care to make everything better.

It seems like you both need to work on your differences extremely. To do that you both need to have a heart-to-heart talk. Try to find things that you both can do together actively and be present mentally and physically for each other. The saying opposite attracts is a bit tricky one. It should be like when one is mentally weak the other should be strong enough to handle the situation. One’s weakness should be the other’s strength. In that sense, you both can bring balance in your relationship. If you both have same preferences in activities that will give you a reason to spend more time together. I don’t know how you both ended up together with so much of differences. Think about how you both can go on in the long term. I would suggest if you both can’t work on these things it’s going to be so hard. The love may fade in no time then both of you end up with hated for each other.

It’s been a few days since his open talk with Vasanth. Ilamaran considered each and every word Vasath told carefully and came to a decision. He is waiting for Meera to arrive there. Once she arrived both had the much-awaited heart-to-heart talk. They contemplated each and everything in the long run but, they realized that they had come so far without realizing what the problem is. So, they only have unpleasant memories than sweet moments. So, both decided to break up. Their relationship may ended but both got a precious lesson to consider in life, hoped to work on finding a suitable partner in their relationship. Just like that, I hope we also can understand this saying and consider how to work on your relationship for better days to come.
