The river roared angrily,
-Durriya Sakarwala
But carried its grace skillfully.
I went rafting that day,
Kissing the cool water I dwindled,
My senses were solemnly kindled.
When I entered the raft,
I blended with creative craft.
I hung on, to learn a few lessons hands-on.
To hold onto me,
To manage the twists and turns,
And still, smile, as I learn.
I jumped up and down,
Like life had thrown me into a whirlpool.
It always does, with a tiny frown.
I am tried and tested, time and again,
Usually, I lose and mostly gain.
I raft through the waters of life,
My life jackets are my thoughts,
Positive, inspirational, or adverse.
They offer me solace,
And save me when I manage to put on a fight.
As I raft through the river,
I remember I am life,
I must flow,
With a group of emotions,
And the virtues of hard work and resilience.
As I raft through the river,
My friends hold me tight,
They tell me,
‘You’re not alone.”
We all flow through the turbulence,
Let’s define our attachment.
I bend again,
But I never let go.
As I raft through the river,
I understand about joys to savor.
The river finally whispers,
The winner is within you,
Raft along, and find your cues.
