I am a writer, and I mostly write about my own experiences of life. I love jotting down my thoughts, sometimes happy, sometimes sad, at times about lessons which I learnt from my mistakes and also funny anecdotes in the forms of blogs.
Whenever I see something which attracts my attention while traveling or during morning walks, while shopping or at a restaurant, I observe carefully and then I give my personal touch to it and present it through my blogs before everyone.
You know what, a writer has to do justice with the topic he or she is writing so that readers don’t get disappointed. But the secret is that it’s still easy to read something, but it’s very difficult to write. Trust me it’s not an easy process because writing is not just about penning down your views in pretty ornamental words on a page; it is actually an art in which you put a part of your soul before the readers.
Here are a few secrets of most of the writers.
- Before publishing any article, all writers edit, re-edit, and read again and again and then press the publish button. I too follow the same process before publishing my blogs and articles, but just after publishing them, I find silly mistakes
. I then edit them and republish the blog.
- Another secret is that after publishing, I keep on checking for likes and comments from my blogger friends and readers. After all, who doesn’t want to hear some praise? At times lack of appreciation demotivates me and I feel so disappointed to see the entire effort going down the drain. For a writer, his or her work is like giving birth.
A writer’s life is not actually the same as it appears to everyone. For every piece of work he works really hard, but his own fears made him susceptible to himself. Before writing each article his heart fears failure and it happens with me every time.
At times, writer’s block haunts me, and I just can’t write anything. When I read other articles, I feel as if I am lagging behind in the world of writing. At times, I procrastinate too.
- The next secret is that a writer sees a story in almost everything. Any incident happening before eyes is a story for a writer.
- At times, when I meet a person who inspires me to write about him or her, I try to put myself in their shoes and then I jot down my perspective but sometimes I make big mistakes when I start judging people without knowing their perspectives.
All I want to say is that all writers work really hard to hone their craft. They need encouragement on each step. All writers have their own set of struggles and secrets, which they try to hide from everyone, but now you all know what my secrets are!
.
On this note, wishing all authors a very Happy Author’s Day!
