Data Privacy A Right or a Commodity?

Well, Well, Well! Data Privacy is definitely a right of the person. But alas! Now it’s become a commodity in the hands of the internet. If a person keeps his profile locked, and personal details about himself   not    shown to public, then you can feel safe. Otherwise, he may fall prey to phishing.

Many fraudulent people use data collected from the internet or a private group to trap young people. They call people as if they are from the telecom department, or the customs and threaten people that they are under digital arrest. This phenomenon has become common these days. They do not leave old people either. And thus, they cheat people’s bank accounts in this way!

I request  all my fellow writers not to trust such fraudulent calls from anonymous people and not to share your personal details. Please do not share any OTP also with such people. You just have to block such fraudulent numbers from your mobile completely. You can report to the real police and government.

Our data privacy is in our hands. It is upto us as to how we protect it. Many fraudulent companies say that they are providing part-time and full-time jobs for a whopping amount. They also seem to be fake. The RBI says on television not to believe such websites. RBI says, “Jhankar rahiye, Satarak rahiye,” meaning “Be informed, be cautious.” Hence, every individual should follow the advice of the RBI.

To anonymous calls, you have to say a big “NO” to protect your privacy. Also, when going through a website, see if the site is a secure site or not. In a haste, don’t fill out any form on a website without knowing its details. Be careful when chatting with strangers on the net.

Many people’s bank accounts are hacked because of such fraudulent people. They lose all their savings to them, not realising that they are fraudsters in the name of “digital arrest.” Next time , if a call comes to you regarding digital arrest, you just have to block the number completely and report it to TRAI number. Or just blocking it is enough. But don’t believe them and fall for them, and supply them any information. You have to just cut the phone call.

It’s really a matter of grave concern about how data privacy has become a commodity today in the hands of fraudulent people, playing with innocent people’s lives. We all should take care to always be careful of where we give our data.

Nowadays, it has become very easy for people to get your number from Facebook, Instagram, or some private writing group. Hence, we should be cautious as to who we are dealing with.Since Data Privacy is our right, we should take all the steps to protect it in every manner. To safeguard it, we should follow certain steps:

1. Don’t trust anonymous people

2. Don’t share your OTP

3. Don’t believe in anything called Digital Arrest

4. Don’t give personal information to strangers

5. Don’t build too much frendidship with strangers

6. If you are insecure lock your profile on social sites

7.Don’t reveal your name

8. Don’t pay any money to companies offering jobs online

Data Privacy is our right

to have a future, bright

But alas, it’s become a commodity

in the hands of fraudulent people and community

Beware of strangers  and anonymous people

you never know, when you become feeble

Stay strong to protect your identity

on the internet and good social community

Don’t become weak

as  threat calls are at peak

Block such numbers

and stop their endeavours

Stay alert And aware

and always take care

of your Data Privacy

Never let it become a commodity

in the hands of fraudulent companies

which in reality asks unnecessarily for fake fees.
