A young journalist decided to pursue his career in environmental journalism as his specialization. His name was Arun. He was an environment enthusiast. At his college, he was considered a Mother Earth fan. He used to write many articles on environmental issues like growing more trees, reversing pollution, saving Mother Earth, climate change, using recycled products, etc.
Many young people enjoyed his articles, eco-poems, and raising questions on environmental issues. Arun used to conduct open debates on environmental topics of major concern. His parents supported him on the ideas he used to generate to protect the environment.
After completing his environmental degree, Arun started to search for a job in leading newspapers. He applied at many places, but no one was interested in environmental journalism. They were only interested in politics, sports, and international news. Arun felt a little disappointed and didn’t know what to do.
After sometime a newspaper approached him to write a column everyday on the environment, but as it was not a popular newspaper, the pay would be less. Arun was very happy and immediately accepted the offer. He decided to keep his Column Name “Earth Day Everyday.” He would write about various topics on the ways to save the environment every everyday in the column.
Arun would mix articles with eco-poetry and present them , so that people would be more interested to read. Sometimes, he would choose a story form. Slowly his work started being recognised and appreciated by the general public. People started buying that newspaper more to read his column.

The Symphony Of Sorting
The symphony of sorting
comes from the choice of selecting
Whether we love mother earth
We should be willing to choose
who has a special say in our birth
recycled paper and recycled books
Make a choice of walking near distance
which will help pollution to reduce
We should choose to use cloth bag
and completely avoid plastic bags
for marketing and daily us
We have a choice to sort and choose
Mother Earth is getting destroyed
with every passing day, we should make a choice
to live with the symphony of mother nature
and completely stop nature’s torture!
2. Climate Change
Climate change
Is such a rage
With Ice melting phase
Global warming days
Ozone layer depleting
Earth taking a beating
With factory smoke, pollution and heating
And human race just seeing
It can cause wildfire and droughts
Extreme rainfall and floods
Shortage of essentials and water
Making the earth hotter
Care should be taken of earth
It makes our living worth
We must give back earth it’s dues
Taking precautions a few
Making noise and air pollution less
Not making rivers and seas a litter mess
Try and save Mother Earth at its best
And not putting its existence to a test
So let’s join our hands
And take a little stand
To save our motherland
And do what we can
The newspaper owner saw Arun’s popularity and decided to raise his pay and position. He was very happy about his column, “Earth Day Everyday.” He decided to give him the Best Environmental Journalist Award. Arun was more than happy to receive the award. He became a known face in the industry because of his popularity.
Nowadays environmental journalism is gaining popularity, and people are taking it up in a professional way. Every little step that we take to save the environment is a step towards a greener and pollution-free and eco-friendly Earth. It is the duty of every citizen to take small steps towards environmental protection!
