My Satori Moment

So my Satori moment ! And source.

My 3 year old winter jacket which I must have donned uncountable times… shoving my hands in its differently and strategically carved pockets, some deep , some shallow, some just cute little  slits for style and aesthetics. By the way, my winter jacket  is my prized possession.. Something which warms me with its presence.. Even on the days when I don’t wear it.. Its mere existence in my closet makes me feel equipped and supplicated, you see. I always thought that I know this jacket of mine inside out and outside in .. So my jacket —one of those quotidian luxury ..oh—didn’t I just coin a new oxymoron.. !!! Is my second skin ..

And now the satori moment of mine — the sudden awakening , enlightenment ..that I felt ..
So it was a very very cold wintry day- and I was walking on Michigan Avenue with hands in the front pockets .. a pair of ugh gloves shoved inside. To handle my phone for tactility required of fingers for phone to feel the touch and then as is the want of a woman, all the vanity, sanity , inanity mixed in my  mind, I seamlessly walked in one of my favourite stores. And while I tried one of the outfits, I removed my jacket , and shoved my phone inside one of the pockets unwittingly …

After I am done with a mix of happiness and exhaustion of trying , I reached for my phone. My phone was unfathomable in those pockets .. I turned my jacket all possible ways. But none yielded the phone .. by now, the store Assistant  with plenitude of serpentine green tresses on one side and crew cut on the other of her head  and a deluge of tattoos on her both arms , also got involved in tracing it  .. but no.  Phone was not traceable .. and then with a rare mix of hope  and hopelessness, I started rummaging my  jacket again.. and lo and behold-my hand goes into a pocket inside my jacket which I never knew existed .. a big one . It was like a thin layer on the top layer of the jacket .. it was such a literal discovery .. wow.. this jacket has one  more pocket and while I stood their with a reflexive smile, the store manager screams..

Hey here is your phone showing me her hand from a distance gripping my phone ‘.. wow..!! It was such a showstopper moment .. and a satori moment.. that in life too, you find the hidden treasures of the possibilities, in times of distress.. that you never know all.. that there are pockets in your heart which exist which you are not aware .. and that when you deeply search for something, may be you discover something inside you .. so keep searching, keep finding your pockets, remain confident but not arrogant .. be prepared to find things serendipitously .. and keep shopping .. and keep stumbling on your pockets of Satori moments ..
