Ben finished his shift and stopped by the sushi spot to satisfy his hungry tummy.He opened his car door, stepped out and stood without even closing the door. He saw a girl with brown eyes in a blue denim and pink tank top on the platform going towards the shop. He hurriedly button locked his car, followed her and went into the shop. He searched around at every table but couldn’t find her. He sadly sat down skimming through the menu card on what to order. “Your order sir?” He heard a charming voice beside, he looked up and was startled.

It was the same brown eyes, but this time he got a better view of the flowing hair, peach lip colour and a badge with name Sophia. Immersed in her winsome beauty he forgot what he was about to order. “Excuse me sir your order please?” She repeated. Onnnee a oneee “one plate of Salmon Maki Rolls” please, he dragged. She stormed  back to the kitchen to place the order.

Ben impatiently waited for close to ten minutes not for his Sushi’s but for Sophia. There she came after 15 minutes, “enjoy your order sir” she said and placed the plate along with the chopsticks. Ben kept looking at her and slowly lifted his chopsticks to his mouth. He recognised that the chopsticks were empty only after they pierced his lips.

After having finally completed his meal he double mindedly took out his wallet. Happy that Sophia would come with the bill & sad that he must leave the place after paying that. She came there with his bill, he gave his card and she swiped it on the machine. He did not miss to notice her pearl bracelet with hanging charms while she was swiping. He kept looking at her and entered the pin and bent down when there came and a wrong pin alert.

He entered the right pin and left the spot with a heavy heart. Ben came home got himself a shower. He couldn’t stop thinking of her so decided to find her on Facebook. He then thought “There will me hundreds of Sophia’s how will I find mine!” after which he dropped the idea. He shut-off his laptop, went through a couple of reels on Instagram and fell asleep.

The next day Ben started off with his daily routine, had breakfast and left for the office. He was a very dedicated man and had no distractions at work. He had completed all the to do’s in his calendar and it was time to leave. Where else will he go after work? He drove straight to the Sushi Spot.

He entered and went to the penultimate table and got himself a comfortable seat. He then corrected his messy hair a bit and his eyes hunted for Sophia in every nook & corner but alas they couldn’t find her. He then concluded that she might be in the kitchen and decided to wait.

A waiter was there asking for Ben’s order. But he was dumbstruck on not seeing her. He then enquired “Where is Sophia Andrews?” The waiter replied, “excuse me sir I don’t get you”. He then added the brown eyed girl. “Oh she!” She’s Sophia Stewart a college student who works here part time and she’s on leave today. He then placed an order for Matcha and went into Facebook in the meanwhile.

He searched by the name Sophia Stewart and succeeded in finding an account with her photo as the profile picture. He sent her a friend request and his green tea had arrived by then. He drank it and left home.

He reached home and saw that she had accepted her request.He went through her profile, saw some pictures and jumped up in joy on seeing her online.He started texting her.

Ben: Hey it’s Ben from this side, I’ve seen you in the Sushi Spot a couple of days ago.
Sophia:Oh that’s nice!I don’t remember seeing you!
Ben:Naturally you see many people a day.But I couldn’t forget this beautiful lady that easily.So I came there today to meet you but you weren’t there.
Sophia: I was on leave today. I work there only partime. I’m studying my bachelor’s in fashion technology.
Ben:No wonder you have such a good fashion sense. He complimented.
Sophia:That’s so sweet of you she blushed.
Ben:What are your plans for the weekend?
Sophia:Nothing much just chilling at home.
Ben:Shall we meet for dinner tomorrow?

He couldn’t believe himself that he had just asked her out for a dinner date. He hastily bit his finger nails seeing her ‘typing’. Oh sure! time and place? She replied. Your choice.. he said, delighted that she had accepted the date. At Oyama by 7.00pm works? An overjoyed Ben replied, “Ya sure” with a hearts on the eyes emoji. See you tomorrow, good night she said and went offline.

Ben got up close to noon and stepped into the  kitchen to make some brunch. This was usual on a weekend he would always choose to sleep over breakfast. He made some hash brown eggs and  went over to have it along with a movie. Always time flew too fast but today it seemed like his clock wasn’t moving there were still 3 hours to 7.00.

Ben was up to choose what to wear. In no time he got dressed in a neat suit & left for Oyama. Sophia was there before him, Ben rushed up to her and asked, Am I late? No I’m early, she replied with a cute smile. He admired her beauty in that teal blue gown and he couldn’t stop looking into her brown eyes.

They’d places their order and started opening up about each other. When all of a sudden Ben had disappeared, Sophia stood up in search of him and was surprised to see him down on his knees. “I love you Sophia” not just now it’s since day one when I saw you at the Sushi Spot, he proposed her with a bunch of roses.

She got it from him but sat back in shock. After having a glass of water she calmed down a bit and then replied. Don’t you think this is too early Ben this is only our first meet. Moreover I don’t believe in this love at first sight business. I like you, I don’t say no! but we’ve to get to know each other better only then will I respond to your proposal.

I totally agree on your say, said Ben. I have a compact house and I’m all alone will you move in with me? This will help us develop a better understanding I’m certain. I agree with that too, Sophia smiled.

It’s been 4 months since Sophia had moved in with Ben. She had slowly started falling for his good heart and caring nature. He was always there whenever she was in need. One day Ben was on his morning workout taking push-ups when he suddenly caught her through the mirror.

She was sitting in an angle were she could secretly watch him. She hid herself behind the newspaper with only eyes out to stare at his well built body. She loved looking at his biceps when he worked out. Sophia was watching him as usual unaware that Ben saw her today. He came up to her with a mischievous smile, shook off his sweat and asked, since when are these brown eyes inspecting my work outs madam? She shyly ran away to her room.

It was Valentine’s Day. Sophia knew that Ben would definitely plan for something but she wanted to surprise him. So she went out early morning before even Ben could wake up.

She decided to play a prank on him and put her phone on airplane mode so that he doesn’t contact her. She got some groceries and went to her friend’s place. There she informed her friend of the plan & made Ben’s favourite Sushi.

Sophia made sure that Ben had left home after her friend’s call and then made her entry. She decorated the hall wall with a heart shaped balloon arch and some fairy lights. Then she went to get herself ready to welcome him. A panic struck Ben entered in and he was shocked on switching on the lights.

She wore the same blue gown that she wore on their first date. Ben showed a sigh of relief when he saw that nothing had happened to her. He went to her and was about to open her mouth to scold when she stuffed a whole sushi in his mouth and made him speechless.

After that she pulled out his hand, put a ring on his finger and said, “I love you darling, Happy valentine’s day”. I love you too, Ben said and kissed on her forehead. But he wasn’t normal yet, what’s bothering you? questioned Sophia. The call from your friend!  Oh that was a small prank I played. What’s going to happen to me when you are by my side! She replied holding his arms tightly. Both then happily enjoyed their Valentine Day Sushi’s.
