Music is the most beautiful thing on this earth. It gives words to your emotions and those emotions, at times becomes the language of your soul, evokes specific emotions and creates happiness.
But do you know, sometimes it may also help in meeting someone special who is only meant for you on this beautiful earth.
To find out how, read this beautiful story of Samar and Debjani.
All India art exhibition was going on in its full swing. Artists from all over India had gathered at one place to showcase their talents. Vibrant colours, artefacts and posters with captions were telling the story of each state. Dances and folk songs of different states were being presented by artists of various states.
Samar, a young boy of Rajasthan and charming Debjani from West Bengal were also present there to represent their states. The environment was super enthusiastic and each stall owner and the visitor was super excited to witness the beautiful set up of the art exhibition which was surrounded by the alluring Aravali hills.
After setting up the stall, Samar looked around for a food stall as he hadn’t had his breakfast yet as he was busy setting up his kiosk. When he walked towards the food stall he saw a beautiful girl clad in red saree. For a moment he found himself speechless and in awe of her beautiful eyes. The girl in the red saree was sitting in a kiosk just opposite to his. Her red bindi was adorning her forehead. As she looked into the mirror to fix her make up her beautiful eyes bent down. Her long sweeping eyelashes had stolen his heart already.
Samar couldn’t stop looking at her and fell instantly in love with those beautiful eyes. His heart skipped a beat and his favourite song came on his lips “Jhuki jhuki si najar bekarar hai ke nahi”.
The girl looked up as If she knew that the song was being sung for her only. She looked at Samar and smiled.
Samar walked towards the girl and introduced himself and his state with pride. Debjani too introduced herself and soon both became good friends.
Both of them would chat whole day discussing their interests, their buisness, choice of food, families and friends and what not. They would eat together, roam around holding hands. It was a five day event so both got enough time to get to know each other. They would meet daily as their stalls were opposite to each other.
At times when both would be busy with prospective buyers and visitors at their stalls both would stealthily glance at each other.
They would sit together, talk about the culture of their families, their likes and dislikes. Time flew so fast as it had wings.
On the last day, Samar proposed Debjani to be his life partner. He shared his feelings towards her. The feeling was mutual but she requested some time to think little more about it . But she promised to be in touch even after the event, to which Samar readily agreed.
Both looked in each other’s eyes and smiled. Once again Debjani’s beautiful deep black eyes bent down and Samar couldn’t stop singing his favourite song, “Jhuki jhuki si najar bekarar hai ke nahi”.
After reaching their respective cities, both got busy but stayed in touch through phone calls. Finally, after few months both decided to discuss their relationship with their families. To make their families understand their interstate love affair was not easy as both families were apprehensive because of the differences of the upbringing . One was brought up in a conservative Rajasthani family whereas the other from a modern Bengali family.
Two completely different individuals from different cultures and customs in a relationship, this seemed little difficult to both of their families but they somehow convinced them for this bond.
And finally their love won and on seeing their dedication for each other both families agreed to give blessings to their relationship.
