‘Social Media’, the strongest word of this generation. It is making us unsocially social and at
times very much social. Every invention has got its pros and cons, even we humans have that.
So when an invention or discovery is made, its out of human mind , so gradually it will have both advantages and disadvantages.
The positive side of social media is evident through my write up. It is this social media, making
me write, publish and reach so many minds. Staying away from hometown and getting a flavour of it, is definitely a boon of social media. Buying and selling a product has also become so easy.
Even older generations can reach out to various places through this social media. Enjoying an
“Aarti” and praying to ” Ma Ganga” from their hometown or from a hospital bed and feeling
blessed is surely a blessing of this social media. It makes them time, gives them tears of joy,
social media makes them aww struck and thus makes others also smile.
Social media is such a place where we can reach and touch thousands and thousands of hearts
in a fraction of second. It claims and aims to do so. But it also has a very dark side. The opinions whether it be political, social, cultural or economic, one can impact certain minds gravely that brings the end of certain lives.
Social media helps you to be vocal as well as makes you so much inwardly shattered that we can never think of it. It is this social media which brought the concept of ugly and pretty in such a strong way , that the younger generation cannot accept the way they are. The entertainment industry came as a boom and using the social media in a way that they themselves are becoming commodities as well as encouraging the younger generation to be a commodity.
As mentioned earlier, the strongest word, better to say, it imparts strongest sentiments. Now,
when we buy any breakable objects, its labeled as ” Handle with care”. The same goes to this
social media platform. With the incoming of ‘AI’ and other applications, what not we are going to see and perceive. Make the world worldly with your senses and let not the social media rule
anyone. Every parents, teacher, and elders should teach the younger generation the art to
handle it.
Before I say a big “Thank You” to this social media, for which I am heard, read and my write- up
to touch people’s heart, I would love to convey the message to everyone, “Love yourself,
embrace yourself the way you are and let no one or nothing rule you. Be the ruler…” With this I
put my pen down with a big heart of thankfulness for the the social media, which I have spoken
little harsh words on it.
