Alone – An Unknown Emotion

Alone

Alone I walk through the path,
Accompanies me only a leap of faith.

Alone I enjoy my company,
Why should we always be a companion or ask for one?

Alone I roam in the darkness of my roots,
Only to find the footprints of my long-lost boots.

Alone I dwell in the bright light of the sun,
The power of its rays is sufficient to keep the flame inside me, burning.

Alone I sail in the sea of my thoughts,
Knowing that my essence will crash, still, I sail to reach an unknown destination.

Alone I sing songs in the forest,
For my heart knows the secrets that are buried the deepest.

Alone I dance in the rain of my moods,
My heart knows the sentiments it wishes to choose.

Alone I run in the race of life,
Without the address of my destination, I still strive.

Alone I sink, into the realm of words and prose,
And I bud out from a tiny seed, into a silky rose.

Alone I mix and match the palette of my colors,
To make a painting of my life, a canvas matching none other.

Alone I kiss my frail reflection,
And shower myself with words of sincere affection.

Alone I hug my naked essence,
And make a simple life, out of my presence.

Alone I jump into a valley of flowers,
And smell every petal made out of hard work and subtle desire.

Alone I bump into the galaxies of stars,
And watch my light shine, through my wounds and scars.

Alone I march into the rainbow,
Adding more colours than a mere seven, I seek more.

Alone I capture a picture in a camera of my eyes,
I store memories in my soul, my sacred device.

Alone I make friends with myself,
And be a reflection of my raw and real self.

Alone is power divine,
A feeling surreal and sublime.

Alone you and I can conquer,
Only we need the determination to emerge stronger.

Alone is strength,
So smile in adversities, and remember if you’re alone you’re a self-made winner.

*******

Alone is an emotion. Just like love, anger, sorrow,  jealousy or hatred.  When you’re alone you’re not lonely. You’re in a company. The company can be your family, children, spouse or your friends.  But in the end, we are all alone.

So what does being alone mean?

It means fighting with yourself. Battling your inner demons. Fighting a war with your subconscious mind and your unconscious state. Being alone means time for reflection on your soul, mind and body. Alone is self-love. Caring and showering affection on your raw reflection.

Alone is when you’re in the company of your spouse, still, something is missing, maybe love.

Alone is when you’re in the company of your children but still something is missing, that’s your real self.

Alone is when you’re in the company of your parents but still something is missing, that’s your innocent childhood.

Alone is when you’re in the company of your friends, but still something is missing and that’s your fragile subconscious stature.

Today I am alone but not lonely.
I am happy to explore the complexities of being alone.

So are you alone? How do you feel?
Powerful or Stagnant?

Brilliantly penned poem…your thoughts flow effortlessly. I loved wandering in the labyrinth of your written words, that embeds a deeper meaning. Loved the concept and the thoughts.

Both the parts (poem and prose) are equally apt, relatable and perfectly worded. Great writeup 👏👏👏
