Kasauli Travelogue
Kasauli Travelogue

When you get a chance to travel with your daughter and son- in -law to a beautiful place , it is a memorable trip for life.

We both visiited a lovely place, Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh in February 2007.The  hotel we stayed was overviewing the snow- clad hills. The weather was very cold. We used to sit out and enjiybtea and snacks.

The scenic atmosphere is to be experienced. We both too were younger to walk through the town. We had driven from Delhi to Kasauli. On our way, we stopped to enjoy Chandigarh, the city I always dreamt to visit. The Rock Garden was fantastic andvwe clicked many photos.

Kasauli is a quintessential hill station surrounded by pine and oak forests with scenic view points and colonial- era landmarks.Kasauli stands at an attitudr of 1,800 metres.

Things to do

A short walk in the Cantonment area leads to Sunset Point where there is a viewing platform to see the view of the view of tge valley and Chandigargh town.

Sunrise Point, Hawa Ghar, Gurkha Fort built in thevearly 1900s by thebtgen Gurkha Army Chief during the fight with the British

Now with Ram ji’ function at Ayodya and Hanuman Jayanti coming up, I remembered our  visit to Sanjeevini Hanuman Temple dedicated to Lord .Hanuman in Kasauli.  The temple is located insode the Air Force Station. It is believed to be the hill Lord Hanuman’s feet touched when returning from the hiils. We felt blessed andvwere happy.

Christ Church, near Kadauli, Gurudwra Shri Guru Nanak ji are the other places to visit.

Best time to visit Kasauli is

The Himalayan state of Himavhal Oradesh is home to the promient tourists destination of Kasauli, which is found in Solan District, some metres above the sea level. It is mentioned in Ramayana, one of the major Hindu Epics.

Kasauli is the hikers paradise and nature lovers nest.A praceful place for writers who can get their inspiration.Ruskin Bond’s birth place too.

Adorned with foggy lanes, cobbled roads/beautifullybdesigned avenues and blooming gardens, Kasauli will delight you at every cirner wuthbits old- fashioned ambience .
