Many workers were trapped. The only good point to be noted is, that all are safe till today.
Thank the Lord to be kind on this.
Can we even imagine the mental conditions of the people stranded there in the Tunnel and the agony of their families?
Rescue operation is on, as the saying goes, God challenges us at each stage of our life, but solutions do come along.
The moment they near the people, some mishap occurs and a way is seen.
The construction workers are trapped in a 300-meter buffer zone and are able to walk and breathe. Rescue teams have been able to communicate with the trapped workers through walkie-talkies and they are said to be in good health. The trapped workers are being provided with essential supplies of food, medicines and oxygen. Experts from Norway and Thailand who successfully rescued children trapped in a Thai cave in 2018 have also joined the rescue operation. An ‘American augar’ machine has been brought to the spot from New Delhi for the drilling and cleaning process.
Once, the debris are cleared, 800-/mm and 900-mm diameter segments of mild steel pipes will be installed, one at a time. If it is cleared, the workers will be able to crawl out safely.
Drilling machines faced some snags, and they are working to repair them. The struggle to free all the workers are in a war – foot. They conducted a mock drill to bring the workers safely. They have been supplying them with oxygen, dry snacks, and water through a pipeline that was laid to supply water to the tunnel for construction work.
The effort is on. All of us should keep praying for their safety and rescue. Pray for those officers who are putting in their BEST, to do the needful. The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and the Indian Government are providing all the help needed.
Cheer them without any negative criticism, as we are praying for our fellow Indians and their family.
I sincerely hope within a few hours God helps them to clear all obstacles and we get to read, ‘ All the workers were safely brought out.’
