MasterChef And My Kitchen

MasterChef And My Kitchen

The morning tranquility of one month would again turn into morning madness.

The stress-free morning routine was once again ready to turn into a stressful routine.

Yes!!! Exams are over, results are declared and now kids are yet again ready to spend 8 to 9 hours of their daily lives at school. And for that, they not just need a healthy and fulfilling breakfast before leaving for school, but also proper lunch and snacks.

And all these mean morning chaos.

But this time, it was all different. Though the new session was to start on 3rd April, I was not panic-struck on the night of 2nd April.

Wanna know why??

All thanks to MASTERCHEF INDIA.

Yes, I had followed Masterchef religiously this time and subconsciously, it had a great impact on me.

I knew unlike MasterChef contestants, my pantry was not open for a mere five minutes, nor I had limited time to plan my menu.

So, taking advantage of my 24*7 open pantry(which I had re-filled according to the need of my child) and full evening to plan my menu, I was well organized and sorted on the morning of 3rd April.

There was no screaming and shouting, no hustle-bustle, no falling utensils, no irritation, and no confusion.

As my mind was clear, my hands had that dexterity that is needed every morning.

As per Ranbeer Brar’s words, “Apke paas waqt kam hai, kaam zyada hai, fir b apke chulhe khali hai – muje darr lagra hai. Is waqt apke saare chule chalne chahiye”, I too kept milk for boiling on one gas stove, porridge on another and side-by-side, started sauteeing onions for ladyfinger vegetable which I was supposed to pack for lunch.

Now, as all my gas stoves were doing their work, I washed and chopped the ladyfingers.  In between, I prepared tomato puree also and added it to sauteed onions.

Like MasterChef contestants, I too had one hour in hand and gradually, I was completing all the elements for breakfast and lunch.

Following Chef Garima’s advice, I tasted every element before serving for breakfast or packing for lunch.

Time and again, Chef Vikas’s calm and poised face was flashing in front of my eyes reminding me to keep track of time.

Unlike the contestants who had no other worries while cooking, I had to make sure to wake Lakshay up on time and help him get ready as well.

All my elements were ready on time and I served him breakfast and packed his lunch and water bottle bang on time.

And the most important lesson that I learned from MasterChef was keeping the counter clean. So, by the time Lakshay’s van arrived to pick him up, my kitchen was shining spic and span.

I was very much impressed with my culinary skills that day and I hope, it remains the same always.

My heartfelt thanks to MASTERCHEF for teaching me such important kitchen lessons.

My morning was tranquil and stress-free, unlike the times when I was disorganized.

Thanks a lot, Chef Ranveer, Chef Garima, and Chef Vikas.
