

Goddess Skandamata is worshiped on the 5th day of Navratri. She is the mother of Skanda (or Kartikeya). She symbolizes her mother’s transformative power when her child faces danger. She is shown riding a rampant lion, with four arms, and holding a baby. Goddess Skandamata brings happiness, peace, and prosperity to the home.

In her 5th shape as Skanda Mata Devi, the mom of the heroic warrior Skanda, she symbolises Divinity which is depicted as preserving toddler Skanda and imparting her blessings.

Green is the color of the fifth day. It symbolizes nature and evokes a sense of growth, fertility, peace, and tranquility. The goddess Skandmata is worshiped on this day. Green also represents a new beginning in life.
