Brewing Memories: A Cup Of Hot Chocolate

“Messy kitchen platforms make efficient kids.” Not Mark Twain 😁

It doesn’t matter how much milk and melted chocolate my kiddos spilled on my white kitchen platform while making warm mugs of hot chocolate for each one of us — what matters most is that they tried to experiment and learn to create something they love to have during the wintertime.

During the process, they not only spent time together discussing the recipe of hot chocolate, but also learned to take risks and dared to make mistakes. The giggles of my son while pouring a very little quantity of the drink in her mug to tease her and my daughter’s playful shrieks of protest to stop him from teasing her filled the space, along with the aroma of hot chocolate, with the warmth of love and happiness 🤗

This sweet memory will always hold a special place in their hearts, and in the future, they’ll share it with their families with joyful smiles on their faces.

As I watched them pour that unusual cup of hot chocolate into the mugs, my heart beamed with pride and blissfulness. A true moment that will be cherished forever and ever by all of us. The best part was watching them work together, taking turns, and putting their heart into the simple recipe so that it wins the hearts of everyone who drinks it.

As a parent, I learned that sometimes it’s okay to let the mess happen, to let go of perfection so that the newborn creativity in the young hearts doesn’t fade away.
