Rage, Return and Revive!

Every year around Diwali this conversation peaks! Was Ravana a man whose devotion was overpowered by lust, or did he have a soft heart that no one saw, because Shri Ram, the epitome of an ideal man, painted the picture in a way that had the galleries clapping!

Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram, an avatar of Vishnu, is loved and revered by millions; however, it’s Ram who gets the brickbats and is considered beastly. We must remember that Lord Shiva had given him a boon of longevity, yet Raavan was consumed by his own undoing.

He was also a devout disciple and learned many priestly methods to appease Shiva. Yet, in the eyes of millions, his effigy is burned, and people consider his annihilation as the victory of good over evil!

For a small, unnoticed group, Ravan might have reached demigod status. Still, for the majority of Sanatanis, he is a sinner, having preyed on pious Sita and with devious plans to take over a huge chunk of land mass through unscrupulous means.

While the debate is raging, let’s put a word in about Shri Ram, he will be the most decorated God for a lifetime; for he defines how a man can rise above odds, defy situational challenges and win back the hearts of millions. He has peak sage respect in our hearts, and his consecrated idols will find a place in every corner of our country. #JaiShriRam
