Look at the current age,
Most manual jobs done in the factories,
By robots for two decades.
Just to increase mass production,
And also enable efficiency and zero errors,
To gain peace of mind.
But some thoughtful people recently,
Pondered over to bring home a robot,
For doing the household chores.
People expected the same efficiency,
And in the process gave the homemakers,
A much-needed rest and me-time.
Are robots needed at home?
Leave aside the huge cost of creation,
It’ll take away housemaids’ jobs,
They’ve been serving for ages,
With the warm homely touch and concern,
Without expecting much in return.
Household tasks have been converted,
To machines for giving comfort and luxury, Example: mixer, oven, washing machine.
The home’s the last bastion,
Left for robots to encroach and invade,
With coldness and no heart.
Our MAIDS are true listeners,
Giving advice and emotional support when needed,
Can ROBOTS ever do that?
Summary –
Dear readers…
I have illustrated (in Haiku 5-7-5 form) about not just the advantages but also the disadvantages of having a robot around us, in comparison to the services of having a house-maid. Post Covid time, already the world is facing the threat of AI in multiple fields.
