Lyon / New Delhi, July 2025:
Team India, participating for the first time in the prestigious European Tournament of Enthusiastic Apprentice Mathematicians (ETEAM), secured the 2nd position globally at the competition held in Lyon, France, from 5th to 13th July 2025.

Team India consisted of six students: Adhiraj Anand, Anshveer Bindra, Madhur Choudhary, Shresth Bhat, Vamika Singhal, and Vedansh Saha, mentored by Professor Sagar Shrivastava. The team represented India at the prestigious tournament which is known for its research-style approach to mathematics.
ETEAM brings together high school teams from across Europe and beyond to solve a set of 10 open-ended mathematical problems over the course of three months. The problems go beyond traditional Olympiad-style questions and are designed to encourage original research, collaboration and deep understanding.

During the tournament, teams take on rotating roles as Reporter, Opponent, and Reviewer over the course of three rounds, engaging in academic debates before an expert jury. Team India scored a total of 235 points, the second-highest among all seven participating teams, which included teams from France, Germany, Romania, Luxembourg and Morocco.
This was the first time India participated in ETEAM, and the team’s debut performance drew appreciation both internationally and nationally. After returning to India, the team was personally congratulated by the French Ambassador to India, H.E. Thierry Mathou, and was invited as Guests of Honour to the National Day of France celebrations on 14th July 2025 at the Pullman Hotel, New Delhi.

The team trained intensively for over a year under Professor Sagar Shrivastava, with support from the Lodha Genius Programme and Ashoka University.
