Yes, 2024 , the month of December is coming to an end and many must be planning to welcome the New Year 2025 in a grand way. The promises would be made to be kept or broken as it has been happening since long.
How peculiar the human mind is which believes and hopes the new year will bring a lot of good luck and they would be ever happy in their lives.
Christmas is round the corner and the celebrations and the Christmas Trees are out of the safe custodian or some would run to the malls to buy the tree.
The children would be imagining the gifts Santa would be showering on them with good and useful gifts. They start dreaming about the gifts and the parents have a tough time to think of the gifts they have to buy for their children as though Santa has given them.
The sale of Santa dress and caps increases. All love to flaunt their caps.The Christmas Carol’s are sung and people visit each other’s house to wish and enjoy the delicacy prepared.
The last week of December, all gear up to welcome the New Year. Some people plan to meet at a friend’s place either get their dishes or order food and drinks.
The children and adults have fun , playing game or watching any movie. Wait for the clock to strike 12 and shout-out together, ‘Happy New Year .’ They enjoy the dinner and call out to meet again.
They promise to Do and Undo many things in the coming year, and pray to the Lord.
How many are able to do their promises, is a big question.?
When I was a child, I lived in Bandra , Bombay, the hub of Christians, I have seen the lightings on the churches and the enthusiasm of my Christian neighbours to decorate their house and making a lot of dishes. They used to invite us to enjoy the cake. I loved the Plum Cake prepared by my friend’s mother.
They dressed well and attended the Mass. We used to watch them with awe and enjoyed.
They too came to our house during Deepawali and enjoyed the savouries prepared by my Amma. They did not celebrate Deepawali but enjoyed watching us lighting the lamps and diyas and the Rangolis we used to draw in front of our house.
But many Hindu families bought Christmas Trees and decorated it with various things and got gifts for their children. It is all an individual choice.
Now many young parents get the Christmas Trees and celebrate Christmas with fun and enthusiasm. The children with their parent’s help, take pride to decorate the tree and remain sleepless to wait for their Santa Gifts. They shared their Christmas Trees with their friends a d the gifts too
In many schools, Banks, some one dresses up like Santa and roam around with a huge bag of gifts and distribute them.
It is a fun filled celebration on the 25th December all over the world.
Any celebration if celebrated with a happy note, is welcomed.
People start counting the dates in December and wait for the New Year Celebration on the 31st night and it continues for a week.
People arrange for a picnic.
In a big Complex, they arrange a bus to visit any picnic spot an have fun.
When it is called a New Year, new resolutions are made to be followed. The mindsets of people should change towards women and various other things. Only celebrating is not ok, but one should implement them too.
One can join any good organization and help them to grow.
