Visual Drawing for Visual Thinking

Recently, I attended a free workshop Visual Drawing. Well,  it says  that  Visual Drawing facilitates Visual Thinking, and it is a   useful   tool   in problem  solving   and  story   telling.  It   says    that    these   days,  Visual   Thinking   has   taken over   boring Power Point   Slides   in    the   Corporate World.  Visual  Drawing  can make  story telling  easy,  interesting   and   effective.

Advantages of Visual Drawing-
1. Communicate with sketch notes
2.Use of Flipcharts and White Boards
3. Communicates Story Telling
4. Training models into Game plays
5. Training becomes easier for soft skills
6.Content Delivery is easily understood
7. Collaborative Engagement is possible
8.Business Sketch Notes are easily understood

Use of Geometry for Business Sketch Notes
Well , we were made to  draw  all   geometry figures in a  Drawing Book. Square, Circle, Triangle,   Rectangle, Parallelogram,  Oval were drawn by everyone.

Visualize in Geometry
We were made to draw an  alarm clock,   a phone,   a laptop, a balloon, a money bag, a pencil, a human figure,   a human figure running, a creative person.
To draw a bulb,  We drew to use UZMO letters to draw.
We drew a team by 3 human figures and half circle surrounding it.
For Product Launch, a fish was drawn with a gift attached to it’s tail.
For Visual Facilitation, we drew a banner and a T.V underneath it as a big sheet, with Topic written inside it.
To avoid confusion, we drew a spiral and a rectangular cake at the side of it
For being  Approachable,  we drew a  Pencil, inside   it   a  human figure looking out of the window.
For  Collaborative work , We  drew 2  human figures  with  hands and 2 jigsaw puzzles.
For Hidden Links, we just drew a human eye
For  Idea   generation,  we  drew  2  human  figures  with  hands holding bulbs.
For Problem solving, we drew 2 trees far apart. One tree was for “now” situation with x’s at  the  bottom  and  the  other tree  was for  “then” situation with all “ticks “at the  bottom. In the  middle, we drew a big “U” to identify  all the  pitfalls  and 2 boats sailing. To bridge  the  gap  between  the  2  trees, we drew a human  figure walking with a business  bag. Underneath  the Pitfalls, we  drew some   water  and  a   crocodile  to identify   the   pitfalls  in  the business. This was the diagram for problem to solution.

Visual  Thinking  has  taken  over  the market to give “out of the  box “solutions  by  means  of  a Pestel Analysis.
1.Political Situation
2.Economic Situation
3.Socio- Cultural situation
4. Technology situation
5. Environmental Situation
6. Legal Situation
The above is the Pestel Analysis. It uses drawing sketch notes for analysis of various situations and scenario’s .
Visual Thinking is used in simplifying things & easy to draw, sketch and better understanding the situation. It  helps  the   children  in  speaking  their   mind  out   by means of drawing   sketches .  Children   and  adults  can  enhance   their speaking, writing and drawing skills through Visual Thinking.

Visual Thinking helps in:
1. Problem Solving Meeting: This  has 3  elements to it – Business Play Board, Play Elements and Rules Of the game.
2. Customer  Journey   Mapping :  This  can   be  used  in  agile ceremonies,  Trust   Building,  Leadership   Change, and Difficult Situations.
3. Business Sketches: All the above examples of drawing help to draw Business Sketches .
4. Visual Story Telling:  Children   and    adults   can   do  visual storytelling by means of drawing sketches.
5.Play Games: Game  models  can  be  drawn  by  students and professionals by means of sketches. For example : Snakes and Ladders, where snakes are pitfalls and Ladders are the go aheads.

I really found it drawing interesting. Hope this blog will enhance your drawing skills in reading and writing. Happy Sketching!
