The World University Shooting Championship 2024 in New Delhi served as a grand platform for young marksmen and markswomen to showcase their mettle. India, already renowned for its burgeoning shooting talent, added more accolades to its name, even amidst fierce competition. Palak Gulia Narrowly Misses Gold in Women’s Air Pistol

Asian Games gold medallist Palak Gulia came agonisingly close to securing another gold for India in the women’s air pistol event. Her calm precision and focus carried her through the competition as she vied for the top spot. However, in a nail-biting finish, she was edged out by Heng-Yu Liu of Chinese Taipei by a mere 0.3 points.  

Heng-Yu Liu’s remarkable consistency under pressure earned her the gold, but Palak’s silver was a testament to her tenacity and skill. The competition highlighted the razor-thin margins that separate victory and defeat in shooting.  

Arshdeep Kaur Brings Home Bronze
