Mr and Mrs Murthy used to live in an apartment with their children Yash and Rashmi. They had a servant whose name was Lakshmi. She used to do all the household work, from washing dishes to cleaning the floor to leaving their kids to the school. Everyday, she used to come in time to do her job. She used to work in other apartments also in the building.
However, sometimes people used to suspect her about her having affairs with other men. Lakshmi was young and not married. She was a good looking maid in the building colony. She was friendly and had a smiling face. When she did not come for work, the families used to get irritated and call her.
Once, it so happened, Lakshmi did not come to work for a week, plus she was not picking up her phone. Mr. and Mrs. Murthy got fed up and decided to go to her house to know what happened to her for so many days. They went to her house to find out that Lakshmi was no more. She died a couple of days ago. Infact somebody had killed her.
Hearing the death of their maid, Mr. and Mrs. Murthy felt very sad. Now , they would have to look for another maid. A few days later, the police came to their house for inquiry into the death of maid Lakshmi. They went to each house where Lakshmi was working in the building. They even questioned the children Yash and Rashmi.
The children told them that , for a few days Lakshmi was accompanied by a young looking boy to the building. The police assumed that he was Lakshmi’s boyfriend. Before this relationship, Lakshmi had two breakups with other boys because of money and fights. This was her third boy friend. His name was Tarun. Soon the police took Custody of Tarun for questioning.
Tarun said that everything between them was going smooth and he was in love with Lakshmi. He wanted to marry her, but her previous boyfriend Manoj was coming in their way. He said that Manoj even threatened Lakshmi’s life, if she would marry Tarun. Because of Manoj every time giving her threat calls , Lakshmi was stressed and did not go for work for a week.
Lakshmi wanted to settle down with Tarun and was facing threat calls from her previous boyfriend Manoj.Manoj was obsessed with her beauty and was jealous of Tarun who was good natured man and had a fine paying job. Infact, Manoj was a kind of bully of the area and has a very bad reputation. For some days, he had disappeared out of town after Lakshmi’s death .
However, the police found out his hide out which was near the outskirts of the town. The police took Manoj to questioning as to Lakshmi’s death. However, he denied all allegations of the police that he was involved in Lakshmi’s death. The police needed strong evidence that he committed the crime. So they let him go…. but they anonymously follows him .
Through Lakshmi’s phone they traced the life threating calls of Manoj. Manoj threatened her that if she married Tarun, he would kill her. After following Manoj for a few days for evidence, the police succeeded in arresting Manoj with evidence. Manoj killed Lakshmi with a kitchen knife, when she was alone in her house and hid the knife in his house in an old cupboard.
Manoj wanted to get rid of the knife, which was Lakshmi’s kitchen knife, when the police reached the spot, Tarun too reached the spot, and told the police that the knife was Lakshmi’s kitchen knife and what was it doing in Manoj’s house was a puzzle and a big question?
After taking Manoj to the jail for the murder of Lakshmi, he confessed that in haste and anger , he had killed Lakshmi as she wanted to marry Tarun leaving him forever stranded. Manoj was sentenced to imprisonment. Thus, the real murderer was found who killed innocent maid Lakshmi. It was Manoj’s obsessed love and madness that killed Lakshmi. Hence, beware of obsessed love!
