The Damocles’ Sword

The future often draws inspiration from mythical tales of the past.

The aforementioned term often refers to threat faced by someone in a powerful position. In modern days, power is assumed to be all-consuming and aggravating. The people who hold the required capital from a very close lens can freely exercise their power, to be precise as per free will to a certain extent as well.

The rules of governing a sovereignty the Machiavellian way, as stated in The Prince by Machiavelli, a good ruler is someone who is good and evil depending fully on the situation and condition of the public in close consideration. Recently, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the current, ongoing year.

The Budget rules put forth last year were surpassed pretty easily. The hike on cut-off for salaried employees was pretty normal in 2023. However, the standard deduction has been set to Rs 75,000 to Rs 50,000 in current times. The new rules of FY25 are quite shocking for everyone to analyze.

Besides this, the Union Budget of 202-25 recognized nine priorities for settling budget scores.  They are:

1. Productivity and Resilience in Agriculture
2. Employment and Skilling
3. Inclusive Human Resource Development
4. Social Justice
5. Manufacturing and Service
6 . Urban Development
7. Energy Security
8. Infrastructure
9. Innovation
10. Research and Development
11. Next Generation Reforms

This amount of cut-off is a bit unbelievable and hard to manage for the current working class. Taxation is something that is quite evident and common. On a closing note,  the new budget that was introduced is like a double-edged sword.
