H3N2 INFLUENZA SYMPTOMS, TRANSMISSION, AND TREATMENT

H3N2

H3N2 is a seasonal strain of influenza and the so-called seasonal influenza mainly included types A and B.

Influenza A viruses are H1N1 and H3N2.

Influenza virus infection is a process of interaction between influenza viruses and humans.

This subtype of influenza virus was discovered in 1968 in humans.

Compared with the H1N1 virus, the changes in H3N2 are relatively small. Transmitted mainly by respiratory droplets, this virus can get you infected if the droplets land in your mouth, or are inhaled, you can be infected.

You might get infected by touching something that has the virus on it and then touching your own mouth or nose has been based on some factual evidence.

Birds and mammals can also be infected by this new virus.

In birds, humans, and pigs, the virus has mutated into many strains in years in which H3N2 is the predominant strain, there is more hospitalization.

Influenza viruses that normally circulate in pigs are called variant viruses when things ate found in people.

Influenza A H3N2 variant viruses ( also known as H3N2 v viruses ) with the matrix ( M ) gene from the 2009 HIMI pandemic virus were first detected in people in July 2011.

The viruses were first identified in the United States pigs in 2010. In 2011, 12 cases of H3N2 v infection were detected in the United States.

In 2013, 19 cases of H3N2 v across five states were detected.

Prolonged exposure to pigs at agricultural fairs has been mostly associated with infections with the new virus. Limited human-to-human spread of this virus has been detected in the past well, but no sustained community spread of H3N2 v has been identified at this time.

Swine flu viruses usually do not infect humans.

However, sporadic human infections with influenza viruses that normally circulate in swine and not people have occurred when this happens, these viruses are called ” variant viruses “.

They also can be denoted by adding the letter ” V ” to the end of the virus sub-type designation.

Variant viruses cause human infections by exposure to infected pigs.

It’s possible that sporadic infections and even localized outbreaks among people with this virus may occur.

While there is no evidence at this time that sustained human-to-human transmission has occurred, all influenza viruses have the capacity to change and it’s possible that this virus may change and become widespread in people.

Illness associated with H3N2v infection so far has been mostly mild with symptoms similar to those of seasonal flu. The seasonal flu, however, serious illness, resulting in hospitalization and death is possible.

In 2012, for example of 309 human infections with H3N2, 16 people were hospitalized and one of those people died. Most of the people who were hospitalized and the person who died had one or more health or age factor that put them at high risk of serious flu-related complications from seasonal influenza and H3N2 v including children, younger than 5, people with certain conditions, immune system pregnant women and people 65 years and older.

Additional precautions for people who are at high risk of serious flu complications should be emphasized at fairs where swine might be present.

Limited serologic studies indicate that adults may have some pre-existing immunity to this virus while children do not.

Most cases have occurred in children who have little immunity against this virus.

The precautions we should take to avoid the H3N2 virus are :

To prevent any type of viral infection precautions include getting vaccinated.

First, sanitize your surroundings by washing your hands regularly with soap.

Second, avoid contact with people who are ill or wear a mask. If you are sneezing or coughing, it is advisable to cover your mouth as the viral infection is contagious.

The treatment for the H3N2 virus is quite uncomplicated as people should more fluids and keep themselves hydrated.

Most of the researchers and doctors have said that antiviral drugs prescribed for the influenza virus are applicable to this H3N2 variant currently, the all India medical association has asked Indian doctors to prescribe Oseltamvir and Zanamvir to relieve the symptoms of H3N2 influenza such as fever, cough, and headaches…

All the readers are requested to always complete the medication course prescribed by a physician and only take anti-bacterial tablets when any verified doctor has prescribed them to you.
