Childhood Terror

I am 20 now!

But my ears still hear the sounds of yelling and shouting when I was eight.

My eyes still recognize those days I woke up at the crack of dawn in fool’s paradise and

Tears spring out at witching hours.

My nights passed with regular brawls, disputes, and tears.

Even when my mind is in an abyss, I can’t stop thinking about my mom and dad, the void between them is intense and inexplicable and can never be filled.

All those beautiful moments are slipping through my hands like sand.

The pain is spread through my veins.

I don’t want to stay!!!

Their brutality squeezed me like a boa and choked out my life.
