A state of being that enables people to cope with the stresses of life, realize their abilities, learn well and work well can be termed Mental Health. The WHO states that “Mental Health is more than just the absence of mental disorders.” It is about the co-relation between a healthy mind and body and well-being, in turn creating a healthy life.

Social & financial circumstances, adverse childhood experiences, trauma, long-term stress, health issues, isolation, biological factors can give a shape to person’s mental health. Many people can have more than one condition at the same time.

According to Natural Alliance on Mental illness,1 in 5 adults have had or currently have symptoms. 

Many people who have mental health conditions aren’t sure how to cope with their symptoms. As a result, they might also indulge in addiction to drugs and alcohol which further degrades the system. 

If the person can feel the change in sleeping position, loss of appetite, impulsive decision-making, and suicidal thoughts then he/she might have a mental issue.

There is no reason to panic, as we first need to understand that it is completely normal. It is just like a physical condition and it can be treated by professionals. Seeking help is the foremost step to getting it cured.

As mental health influences the way we function day to day,it is important to take for us to take measures and boost it. 

Some tips to boost and attain a healthy mind are as follows :

∆ Being physically active daily for 20-30 minutes.

∆ Paying attention to the present moment.

∆ Expressing gratification for all we have.

∆ Sipping lemon grass tea as it helps to relax our brains.

∆ Chanting the sacred mantra “Om” before sleep and after waking up can do wonders.

∆ Having a cup of coffee.

∆ Meditating for 10 minutes can calm down our nerves and brings clarity to life.

In truth, mental health influences the way we think, feel and behave which means that it affects all aspects of social, personal, and professional life.

Therefore,it is very crucial to take care of our mental health.
