Day Four of Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Kushmanda which means the creative power in the universe.
Goddess Kushmanda represents Power and strength, she rides a tiger and has eight arms.

Goddess Durga is referred to as the ‘Shakti Swaroop’ means the one having lots of power. It was believed
that Goddess Durga came on the earth to kill the Demon Mahishasur, that’s why Goddess Durga is also considered as Mahishasur Mardini. The one who kills the evil Mahashasur. Durga Strotra is considered as one of the most powerful devotional mantra.

During the days of Navratri Durga Puja organized especially in the region of South it is considered as one of the major festivals. Decorative and colourful pandal arrangements are made for Durga Puja. Big Idol of
Goddess Durga is set up in these pandals. This festival had its main consideration in West Bengal. People come and visit pandals and offer their prayers to Goddess Durga.

Visarjan

This celebration ends on the tenth day when the statue of the Goddess is taken out to the river for immersion. This celebration indicates the victory of good over bad and evil. It also shows the strength that a woman can have if she has to fight against evil and wrong.
